Jaison Patel, E’22, mechanical engineering, and Joshua Baum, E’23, mechanical engineering, co-founded startup Tubender to make tube bending for metal conduits an affordable and efficient process. Their technology is based on a prototype created during their senior engineering capstone.

Alumnus Is Revolutionizing Snacking as Founder of AshaPops
Alongside his mother, Jai Farswani, E’12, industrial engineering, created AshaPops, which sells popped water lily seeds in multiple flavors inspired by family recipes. Their goal is to revolutionize snacking habits nationwide by continuing to bring ayurvedic plant-based foods to major retail chains such as Whole Foods and ShopRite.

Creating a Device To Detect Epileptic Seizures
In collaboration with ECE Distinguished Professor Nian Sun, Mukki Gill, E’25, mechanical engineering and history, is developing Zor, a portable device that can predict when its user is about to have an epileptic seizure. She received a second place Women Who Empower Award from Northeastern in the Powering a Healthy Tomorrow Award category, and an honorable mention in the undergraduate category.
