Congratulations to Joan Dela Cruz

Congratulations Joan Dela Cruz, BSME'13, who has won the Igor Sikorsky Scholarship which covers 50% of tuition for the first year. Recipients also participate in internships at Sikorsky Aircraft. Dela Cruz is only the second COE NUPRIME student to win this award.

The Igor Sikorsky Scholarship Program indoctrinates scholars to the rotorcraft industry through its 10 week summer internship at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. The program prepares scholars for full-time employment by merging their academia engineering theory with real world engineering experience. During the internship, scholars receive on the job training, challenging job assignments and mentors to enhance their technical career development.

The Igor Sikorsky Scholarship Program (ISSP) is an integral part of Sikorsky’s diversity recruiting effort. The ISSP is designed to increase the level of interest in and awareness of careers in the rotorcraft industry amongst engineering students. The ISSP is also a reflection of our values and we recognize outstanding students and the achievements they have accomplished. We provide students with the opportunity to work as an intern to gain insight into the rotorcraft industry and our company and its culture.
